Asics Shoes & Apparel
Two years of research and design at the Asics Institute of Sports Science has paid off in the stable neutral trainer that provides maximum efficiency and comfort for a great variety of runners. The GlideRide is a well-cushioned trainer with an exaggerated propulsive rocker and an EVA propulsion plate that reduces energy loss at the ankle joint. There is a lot of running tech stuffed in the GlideRide. It is essentially the more runnable result of the “concept” Meta Ride of a few months back. Unlike many of the popular running shoes with carbon plates in the midsoles that propel runners to a faster pace, the GlideRide is comfortable at any speed. This is Asics’ future.
The update of the Asics Gel-Nimbus continues the tradition of a plush neutral trainer that stresses cushioning. Asics developed an even softer wrap-around GEL technology for the Nimbus 22 for better shock absorption. This shoe, however, is livelier than past models with FLYTEFOAM Propel for better energy return. If you want something with a lot of foam in the midsole for some cushiony, plush running, the Gel-Nimbus 22 is your shoe.
The update of the GT-2000 offers a few tweaks to improve flexibility and shock absorption. An improved GEL provides better impact protection in version 8 of Asics’ everyday stability trainer and an even springier formulation of Asics’ lightweight FLYTEFOAM provides even better energy return. The forefoot flexibility of the updated GT-2000 is much improved, while the TRUSSTIC SYSTEM continues to provide solid and sure stability. If you liked the previous version of the GT-2000, this one is even better. If you have never tried the GT-2000, this is a great version to check out.
The newly updated Gel-Kayano adds some new feature to Asics’ venerable plush-cushioned stability trainer. A new architecture for the visible rear foot Gel promises greater shock absorption, while DYNAMIC DUO MAX foam on the inner side of the shoe provides great stability by helping to control excessive pronation. Asics’ GUIDANCE TRUSSTIC system enhances your foot’s natural gait from foot strike to toe-off, resulting in a smooth, stable, and supremely comfortable ride. The Gel-Kayano 26 isn’t just soft, however. The use of FLYTFOAM Propel with its bouncy elastomer compound provides a more responsive feel for such a plush cushioned stability shoe. Ultimately, the new Kayano allows you to have the perfect balance of plush cushion and stability.
Asics’ update of the DS trainer will not disappoint those looking for a responsive performance shoe that offers lightweight stability. Asics FlyteFoam provides lightweight, responsive cushioning for quick running with a Gel pad in the heel for some additional protection. This updated version uses Asics’ new Adapt Mesh for a secure and unrestricted fit. If you want to shave some seconds (or minutes) off your PRs, this is the shoe for you.
Asics has made some major improvements to their flagship stability shoe. New to this version is a full-length FlyteFoam midsole providing more adaptive cushioning with less weight. The new men’s GT-2000 is .6 ounces lighter, while the women’s GT-2000 has trimmed a full ounce. Asics has also made significant changes to the upper, removing the hard plastic on the heel counter and creating a virtually seam-free, more breathable upper. The GT-2000 6 is a light and supportive everyday trainer that will allow you to stack up those miles in comfort.
